Sunday afternoon, 29 degrees, the sun is shining, what does one do?
Char and I were down in Southampton this weekend for some quality home luvin. A comfy couch, homemade dinners and a fridge packed full of gourmet food. Heaven every once in a while.
Just outside of Southampton there’s a seaside town called Lymington. I love little English gems like this so off on our road trip we went. Listened to the whole Arctic Monkeys album on the way – Leave Before the Lights Come On (quality)!
Arrived at the sea side, got some ciders and sat on the edge of the pier. Everyone had crab buckets and were fishing out there dinner. YUM.
Lymington is close to the New Forest which is famous for it’s ice cream. Naturally, had to get a cone – for just 50p! So far from London prices and lifestyle. Char has some mussels scooped up from the sea just around the corner. Salty & sweet.
Passed by even more cute sweet shops with the biggest homemade flapjacks I’ve ever seen. Mouth watering.
Such a different pace of life there! The sea is definitely good for the soul. Few more ciders down (at least for me!) the sunshine and seaside couldn’t get any better.
